A Couple New Quik Park Features
Went up recently to the Quiksilver Park to check out some new features that have been moved around and added. Here is a taste of whats new up there! Looks as though snow is in the forecast this week which is a promising sign!

This rail is set up with mellow banks on both sides – Tom ollies a 360 over it into the new C-rail set up:

I think the C-rail could be my favorite feature these days…
One of the other big features added was this launch box – You can take it to a jump style landing or just hop into the transition early to save you knees!

The 3 jump line on the side cut is looking very promising in the coming days, looking forward to that! A new Quiksilver park edit coming very soon!

Nipwitz
Have you ever heard of Nipwitz? If not, you will soon. These guys from Finland are set to burst onto the scene this season. Churning out multiple webisodes all last season, all of which match the quality of big hitters like Level 1, these creative jibbers are taking urban, and filmmaking, to the next level. Here is their first webisode of the season:
Check out their website for information and updates, and you can watch their epidodes from last year here.
And you probably don’t need me to tell you this, but the park crew is killing it right now. I was up Monday night, new features include super fun cannon pontoon, elbow kink in a new place, and a soon-to-be-open rebuilt #4 jump on the cut line. And Y2Plays are now on sale too, so get up here!

January Edit
Had a well needed sesh up at Grouse last Thursday. With the sun shining, I couldn’t ask for anything better. I brought up my camera and thought I would make up an edit.
Here it is!

Sunny Sunday Edit
Grouse has been beyond amazing these past days. With the park being in great condition and the sun shining, I have been fortunate enough to get some riding in. Here’s an edit I made of a Sunday ride. Check it out!
Look out for more edits coming soon,
Andrew
SNOWDEO !?
Coming this February, Snowdeo is a two day railjam competition happening at Swanguard stadium. That’s right Swanguard stadium is going to be turned into a full-on urban park with features including rails, fences, a wall ride, a step-down jump and more.
The railjam will be the biggest of its kind in the lower main land with riders from all across North America competing for $20,000 of prizes. The event will also include entertainment, a beer garden, and DJ’s such as My!Gay!Husband! and The Hood Internet.
Organizers are expecting crowds of 5,000 a day during the two day event and are hoping to make this an annual event for the following years.

Hailing from North Bay, ONT, Jesmond Dubeau will be participating in Rail jam, Snowdeo.
It’s going to be a killer weekend and there’s no doubt that the riders are going to be throwing down at this event.
For more Information check out www.snowdeo.ca
That’s all for now,
Andrew.

Jason Macfarlane Alterna Shoot Shots
Sunny skies, pro riders, and a jump bigger than anything the North Shore has seen before… March 29th was a pretty darn good day for a photo shoot. Grouse local, Jason Macfarlane was up Grouse Mountain to shoot the Alterna/Showdown Over the City after session. Here are some of his shots.
Check the goggle shot at the end…damn!

No grab. Huge.

When the takeoff is taller than the scaffolding, you know the jump is good.

Liam Casey corking out.

Timed perfectly...

I got a shot! Jason said he tried this shot about 30 times and these two were the olny ones that worked out. Click the image and head over to newschoolers.com to vote for it!

Beauty.
More shots to come later in the week. Keep checking back!
Word is Grouse Mountain is in top form right now. Get up there before the season is over!
