Girls, Girls, Girls!
Heyo!
Around 2 weeks ago, Mount Seymour held a girls contest, the “Rugged Riders Kinky Rail Jam”. These rugged girls tore up Seymour’s park like wolves on a freshly tackled lamb. The rugged riders have notoriously been spotted on mountains in the lower mainland as well as inland in the interior. At night time, they have been seen howling at the moon and killing stuff (mainly the terrain).
Luckily, Noah Spivak was there to capture the girls in one of their natural habitats.. here is the video. Enjoy!
This contest was just the beginning for these she wolves, and many more are coming up including the Roxy Chickadee Jam at Grouse on March 6th!
Ladies! Ladies! Ladies! ROXY Chickadee Jam Coming to Grouse Mountain this weekend!
For all those girls out there shreddin the parks, this year Grouse Mountain is hosting the Roxy Chickadee Jam, which will give the opportunity for girls out there of all riding levels a chance to show off your talent. MGT Academy Update
It’s official. Three girls from the first round of selections for the MGT Academy have been chosen. The camps at Grouse Mountain produced Marie-Andre Racine, Shelly Julio and Jenna-Mae Togado as candidates for the MGT Academy. The Academy will pick one girl from the pool of candidates this summer who will get the opportunity to be trained by pro female riders for rapid transit to a career in snowboarding next season. Neat! If only Translink was that good.
The three girls have also landed spots in the Roxy Chickadee Jam host by Grouse Mountain on March 1, 2009, where they’ll get a chance to strut and polish their skills. Double neat! Be sure to check out the event. You may see one of them on the cover of a snowboarding magazine in the not so distant future.
Little known fact, Jenna was fighting a bout of unhappy stomach on the second day of camp due to something she ate the night before and she still rocked. That is so punk rock. Who said girls can’t shred?
