Grouse Park Olympic Edit
With the Olympics wrapping up and the gold medals building up, it is apparent we are well on our way to making Canadian history. For me the Olympics have been very busy thus the late release of this edit, which was filmed within the first week of the Olympics in the re – designed cut park. With a couple hours of filming with Shayan, Jason, Corey and Quentin, I was able to come out with this edit. Unlike many others, I tried to make this one different, in this case through the teddy bear crisis style rider/timelapse. If your not sure what I mean check it out for yourself.

Sunset Shot at Grouse Mountain
Bill Hawley and the local crew went up a couple days ago and got some shots in the newly rebuilt park. I got to go ride it last night and it’s a whole bunch of fun. Get up there while the sun’s up and the snow’s soft.
Grouse: Cut Park Montage
The park is now running smoothly on Cut with some very fun features. Here’s a quick little edit thrown together by Shayan including some shots from Quik park when it was still in business. Enjoy.

Second Oakley Night Jam
Hey everyone,
So if you didn’t know, this past Friday was the second Oakley Night Jam of the year. Hosted in the Quiksilver Park, there were plenty of features to hit. The jam took place on the Flat Down and the Up Box, providing great fun for all. Congrats to everyone who killed it, I hope you got your prize. The prizes included the Oakley wallets, backpacks, laynards, toques as well as POW spring gloves. The final prize included 10 Boardroom gift cards which were given out to just about anything ‘unique’. The Jam was wrapped up with a raffle for a pair of Oakley Sunglasses and the new Shaun White A-frames. Be sure to come out to the next jam February 5th, 2010.

More Quik Park
This Christmas break has been quite an interesting one. We have been lucky enough to run into only a few cloudy days and almost none of the typical rainy, miserable conditions that Vancouver is famous for. Still, everything has its downside. Next to no precipitation and consistent cold temperatures have lead to hard pack conditions, which are especially noticeable when the sun sets. However, with the help of Grouse Mountain’s fleet of snow makers this Christmas break, the park crew has done a good job of keeping things up to standard. Speaking of Park Crew, Shayan and I did a few filming laps with Ryan and Tom (and a quick cameo by Quentin Deboice!) when they weren’t doing maintenance and Shayan threw this little edit together. Enjoy.
Hey Everyone!
Hey guys,
My name is Alice Gorton and I’m really excited to have the opportunity to write for Grousepark.com this season! I started skiing at Grouse Mountain when I was around 8 years old. I had no idea how to do it, I would just rip down the mountain and fall when I needed to stop. After that phase, I started snowboarding, I was 11 years old and I instantly fell in love with it. I am 16 now, and since then, Grouse has become like a second home to me. I have made some great friends through this sport and through grouse and together we have had some wonderful experiences. This season, I have been lucky enough to have ridden Grouse Mountain, Seymour, Whistler and a mountain called Sunshine in Calgary. However, Grouse Mountain has always been the go to mountain for me, as I live in Richmond and have a very convenient sky train, sea bus and bus ride there, which is actually a lot shorter than it sounds. Anyways, the game plan for this season is to have the best day ever, every day. I’ll also keep you updated with whats going on in snowboarding, whats going on at Grouse Mountain and who’s killing it. Don’t be afraid to come up and say hi if you see me riding this season! It would make my day!
