Striaght Outta Compton.

Okay, so maybe just outta Whistler. The kids at PYP and all those local Coquitlam boys that moved up this season have been riding everyday so far this season, except for one day when Pat partied too hard and slept in. It’s been known to happen. Anyways, here is what they’ve been up on these past few bluebird days that we’ve had to kick off December.

So, the Jonas brothers snowboard.  They managed to get some camera time with two of them in the park.  Must be all that Peak Season fame.

Bluebird days call for Friday laps in the Blue park on Blackcomb. Here’s the full crew!

Enjoy!

Sorry For Partying

Two videos in one day!? Unheard of, I know. Who do we think we are, Transworld? Last season, you all heard a great deal about Progressive Youth Productions, aka PYP.  Their project from last season is all done and available on the interwebs as a free download. Free!? Yea, everyone loves free things.  So, go check out the site, and check out the video linked below for viewing convenience. Pat King and Graeme Meiklejohn are back at it this season, aiming for a full length video. Hype, hype, hype, hype.

Filmed and edited by Pat King, Graeme Meiklejohn and Charlie Grinnell.

Sorry For Partying Teaser!

Hello All,

I know it has been a while, but we are proud to finally release the teaser for our end of season short film.

Show everyone!

Chuck

We have a slight change of plans…

Hey Errbody,

If your still reading this, great, because I plan to be blogging all summer long with some very entertaining antics.

So here is what is going on in my life:  Liam Casey and I were supposed to goto Mammoth to do some shooting with 4bi9 in Mammoth’s SUPERPARK but it was very last minute and poor planning led to Liam and I driving to Centralia, Washington (90 Miles outside of Portland) and driving back in one day, FML!

Alright so we have been back for a couple of days now, I have been busy ORGANIZING (haha this time I will plan) the trip to Mt. Hood with Surface Skis.  May 30th to June 11th PYP will be at Mt. Hood shooting for the end of season project we have been working on as well as doing some shooting for the wonderful people at Surface.  For all you film nerds out there, my 35mm adapter now fits on my camera and the footage looks amazing.  For errbody else who doesn’t know what a 35mm adapter does, click here.  So after Mt. Hood, I have some stuff that I will be doing with Alterna so keep your eyes open for that.

Also after Mt. Hood, we will be shooting some more stuff on the glacier in Whistler as well as some biking with a good buddy of PYP’s, Mr. Eric Lawrenuk, Mr. Mark Mathews and Mr. Jordie Lunn.  It may not be ski and board content, but trust me, these guys are amazing on a bike, and even more amazing off the bike…  There will also be updates on how the end of season thing is going, maybe another teaser as well.  I plan to do daily updates while in Mt. Hood as well.

Ok so now my hands are tired from typing because I can’t actually type, I finger poke, so cut me some slack for stopping…..NOW!

PYPeace!

Super Secret Alterna Shoot

Alterna Films had a private shoot this past week on Grouse Mountain. Taking full advantage of the slushy spring conditions, the crew invaded the Quicksilver park, set up some highly photogenic features, and threw down.

Stepover. 65 feet to the knuckle. Take 'er deeeep.

Riders in attendance included Craig Bealieu, Beau Bishop, Wiley Tesseo, Barry Hartman, Matt Belzile, Tadej Valentan, and many more. Even Grouse Mountain local Liam Casey was invited in on the fun. You can check out the Alterna blog for some behind scenes shots of the action but the only place to see the real goods will be in Alterna’s 08/09 film.

Big enough for ya?

Big thanks to Carlo for letting me in on the session!

Jason Macfarlane Alterna Shoot Shots

Sunny skies, pro riders, and a jump bigger than anything the North Shore has seen before… March 29th was a pretty darn good day for a photo shoot. Grouse local, Jason Macfarlane was up Grouse Mountain to shoot the Alterna/Showdown Over the City after session. Here are some of his shots.

Check the goggle shot at the end…damn!

No grab. Huge.

When the takeoff is taller than the scaffolding, you know the jump is good.

Liam Casey corking out.

Timed perfectly...

I got a shot! Jason said he tried this shot about 30 times and these two were the olny ones that worked out. Click the image and head over to newschoolers.com to vote for it!

Beauty.

More shots to come later in the week. Keep checking back!

Word is Grouse Mountain is in top form right now. Get up there before the season is over!
