Sunny Days

Here’s a little montage Trint Thomas threw together from one December 17th, one of the few sunny days this season. The riders in order are Corey McIntosh, Brian Choi, Myself and Trint Thomas himself. Filmed entirely in the Quiksilver Terrain Park, which if you have not check it out yet, is probably the best it’s ever been since I started riding park at Grouse.

Grouse Park Olympic Edit

With the Olympics wrapping up and the gold medals building up, it is apparent we are well on our way to making Canadian history.  For me the Olympics have been very busy thus the late release of this edit, which was filmed within the first week of the Olympics in the re – designed cut park.  With a couple hours of filming with  Shayan, Jason, Corey and Quentin, I was able to come out with this edit.  Unlike many others, I tried to make this one different, in this case through the teddy bear crisis style rider/timelapse.  If your not sure what I mean check it out for yourself.

The Mug Shot Blog

It’s time for you Grousepark viewers to get to know the faces that frequent Grouse Mountain. Here are some mug shots from this season.

First up we have Corey Mcintosh.  This kid is killing it on the hill, keep your eyes on him as he is definitely going somewhere in snowboarding.

A frequent in my blogs and another kid blowing up this year, Shayan the brown man.

You might recognize this guy from a personal blog I did on him, but he’s worth mentioning more than once. Here is the mean mug of Ben Neil.

Next we have our friend from Eastern Europe, Eduard Mikulcik. He also answers to Halldor Hellgason and might really be from Iceland.

Up next is Bryce Mclean, the one other tight pant skier who frequents Grouse.

Geoff Shaw from the East Coast, so he has had no problems dealing with the less than stellar conditions this season has presented us with.

And lastly, your man behind the lens and the blogs, myself, with this lovely self portrait.

So if you see any of these guys on the mountain, don’t be shy.  Say hello, as they are usually pretty friendly people…usually.

One Lap With Corey Mcintosh!

On Tuesday night, we headed up grouse for a little bit of night riding. I met up with Corey Mcintosh and decided since it was such a clear night maybe it was the time to take some photos in the quik park.  I am not very good with cameras…yet, but they are still pretty good shots of him. This was our first lap and my camera died right after this, but we had a great time! Then I decided it was only necessary to try and turn him blue, because that is what computers can do these days!

Sunny Days and Fast Laps in Quik Park

The Quiksilver Terrain Park is running stronger than ever as we’re nearing the end of 2009. The sun has been shining almost every day and winter break has brought a few new faces to the mountain. I’m not in much of a writing mood as I’m about to head up the mountain, so I’ll let my photos do the talking. Enjoy.

Safety First!

So, the time we have all been waiting for is here, winter break. Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, whatever you believe, they’re all here. More importantly, the freedom to snowboard or ski and be carefree every day is rolling through. This is a time for holiday celebrations, visiting friends and family and for riding every single day. Remember, throughout all the festivities you may start to get tired and, as we all know, the Lower Mainland hasn’t had that much new snow lately. The mountains aren’t exactly covered in powder at the moment, but don’t fret! Just remember to think about your safety and make sure you stock up on Red Bulls for the mornings you’re feeling tired. I wish you all happy shredding and a happy holiday as well!
