Oakley Night Jams 3: Cut Edition
Last night was the Oakley Night Jam. Chuck was on the mic, keeping everyone entertained, Tamo was judging snowboarders, Peter helped out with the ski side of things and everyone was throwing down. The prizes weren’t being thrown out for nothing, the kids had to work for ‘em, so the result was a sick little competition. If you haven’t already heard, the park has been moved over to the left side of Cut and it is actually really fun. The park crew had to get creative but they’ve put a pretty rad setup together so check it out this week.
The comp started off with tricks being called out and prizes were given for whoever could do them first. Then, the format was changed up and there were qualifiers, where the first 3 people to do the designated trick would get into finals. Next, finals were moved to the elbow kink where the finalist who did the right trick first won.
In the end, the winners were Mr. Ben Neil on the ski side of things, walking away with a new pair of Oakley Ambush goggles and Oakley sunglasses, and an underdog on the snowboard side of things, whose name I still don’t know, but he fought hard for the win after turfin’ it pretty hard a few times, snaking a pair of Oakley Crowbars for his efforts. All in all, it was an awesome night, one of the best night jams yet! Don’t miss the next one, who knows it could be even better! Here are some shots:
Well there ya have it! Some kid even went as far as saying that Chuck was the funniest guy around. So, Chuck is officially the funniest guy out there and the park is still kickin’ and better than ever, so get up the mountain as soon as you can and have a good old time!
Countdown: 6 days left!
All good things must come to an end.
Only 6 shred-days left this season. Hopefully everyone has taken full advantage of the spring riding extension Grouse Mountain was kind enough to hook up.
If you haven’t been riding lately, make sure you get some while you still can! The park is slushy, the sun is out, and the sessions are on.
Last day of riding on Grouse Mountain is Sunday April 26th!

Hey it’s Cam!
Alright! So, after many attempts and failed trial runs, the account finally works! I may have, according to many of those who know me, a head full of sawdust, and my luck with blogging so far has been a direct result of it. Until now! I guess I should do this intro thing…

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Cam Harris. Locally grown, I have skied at Grouse Mountain basically for my entire skiing career, which began in a rather recent grade four. I did the race program on the mountain for a couple years, but very quickly migrated towards the park, having a budding and keen interest in big jumps and rails and what not. I’ve been hitting the park avidly for the past 4 years, and have never lost interest.
I love to bring up my camera and get shots of, well, basically anything around the mountain. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, I also like to do a little video editing, provided there is some footy my buds can throw at me. Thanks guys!
I am super, super stoked to be working with the rest of my fellow bloggers. From what I’ve seen so far, this is going to be THE place to stay updated and get learned on everything park-savvy. Like everyone behind the blog, I will do my absolute best to throw some innovative and insightful words together, topped off with pics and the occasional fun, fresh edit. Count it!

So, until next time, I look forward to seeing all of you in the park soon. I’m that guy in the orange helmet, red jacket and white pants, most likely followed by some crazy guy with a cane and his Nikon Coolpix. Feel free to hit me up on Facebook and drop me a line!
Make it artsy, make it poppin,
Cam
Introducing the Grouse Park Blogospondents
It is my pleasure to introduce to the Grouse Park community our new team members: The Blogospondents.
I was overwhelmed with the applications I received over the last 3 weeks; our Grouse Mountain terrain parks sure see their fair share of articulate and engaging skiers and riders. In fact, I was so impressed with the calibre of applicants that I couldn’t actually narrow it down to just five.
So I changed the rules.
This group of six guys brings a really well rounded set of skills to the community. Ranging in age from 18 to 23 with both skiers and snowboarders in the mix and excellent skills in the park, creative writing, park photography and video editing, these guys are going to keep you entertained all winter.
Plus, we’ve now got our pro team all set up to bring you their insights as well, so click the RSS link above and subscribe today. You don’t want to miss the conversation that’s going to be flowing in here. Watch for the first introductions coming soon – these guys are going to tell you a little more about themselves before they launch into the world of snow sports blogging.
So now, without further delay, I bring you the Grouse Mountain Blogospondents:
- Cam Harris
- Charlie Grinnell
- Daniel Jonas
- Scott Titterington
