Grouse Park Playlist 3 – The Journey

Now that the holidays are over I am getting back into school and riding. I spent a lot of my time in December traveling. This Grouse Park Playlist is inspired by thinking about shredding while on the road. I spent 40 hours in a car from Calgary to southern Ontario in one long seamlessly never ending journey. This gave me plenty of time to reflect and go through my whole iPod, there were many songs that made me nostalgic of epic days on the mountain. I picked these songs in particular because they all have good vibes. While skiing and snowboarding there are many different styles of music to get into, and I am a fan of almost all music. When I’m not on the mountain these tracks seem like theme songs for the good days. They bring back all the good memories and in turn gets me hyped to go ride! It’s hard to try and pick a playlist that is good for riding, as everyone gets down to something different. This collection of songs can at least convey a feeling that you can relate back to being on the mountain with friends. In my opinion, now that the snow is flying, the good times must be just around the corner. See you out there!

Fresh Season Fresh Photos

What’s up Grouse Park blog readers? Jason Macfarlane here to put out content for another season. If you’re new to grousepark.com, this is my third season writing for the blog. I am an 18 year old skier from North Vancouver, currently enrolled in my first year of university. This year I am also a part of the Park Crew staff on Grouse Mountain. So I’ll be writing about the park, helping to build, maintain and keep it running smoothly.

Lack of snow has been a bit of a challenge so far this year, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t pulled off some good features. The Park Crew have worked hard (which hasn’t been me so far so I can’t take credit for this) and have put together an awesome line of rail features in The Cut park. Jam packed, it is probably one of the jib parks with the best flow the mountain has ever seen.

Recently, Trint Thomas and I spent a few hours in the sun shooting some pictures and video clips. Here’s one of my favourites from that day.

Good to be Back

Hey everyone, my name is Jeremy Cox.  I have been involved with the Grouse Park blog for the past couple years, mainly focused on video.  If it’s a sunny day and I am up the mountain chances are I will have my camera so feel free to say ‘hi’!  Keep posted for, what I hope will be, some cool edits this season.  I got a couple lap’s in with Zac Dolesky recently and here is a one run edit from the session.

First Daze First Post

The Cut Line is fun and the GoPro’s are out.
My first post and first year with the Grouse Park blog. I am excited to be contributing and riding up at Grouse Mountain this season. Some background info on myself: snowboarding for over eleven years, blogging for about six and living in Vancouver for almost two. An enthusiast of all things culture, I plan on adding a fresh perspective and some frequent content to the blog — from ‘day in the park’ to product reviews, it’s going to be a fun season.

Alterna Blog

So I went to visit Mr. Carlo Wein of Alterna Action Films at their office in West Vancouver and it was awesome! They have started a blog at alternafilms.blogspot.com that is available right here on the GrousePark Blogroll on the right hand side… if you didn’t know.

I will keep everyone informed of all their updates.

Keep it real, PYP style!

Happy Holidays

So it’s that time of year, kids are starting their Christmas breaks and the malls are madness….if you haven’t started your shopping yet, I feel for ya. So, to help relieve you of your holiday stresses, we have been able to throw a few features into the Quiksilver Park to create a line. All the snow we have been receiving lately has definitely helped as is the cold temperatures for making snow, and if Mother Nature continues to be cooperative we will be up and running at full throttle very shortly.

I would also like to welcome to the Grouse Mountain Terrain Park blog crew, the newly acquired blogospondents, which are; Cam Harris, Charlie Grinnell, Daniel Jonas, Scott Titterington, Chris Jones and Sam Masih. These fellows will be taking pictures, filming and writing blogs for grousepark.com about all things ski and snowboard related within the local scene, so keep an eye out for their informative and interesting views on whats going on.

Also, tonight’s our first Oakley Night Jam event of the season, so come on up for some jibtastic fun and a chance to take home some sweet prizes, but bundle up as its gonna be a cold one.

The Park Crew and myself would like to wish you all a safe and Happy Holiday season.
