Alterna Shoot

At the end of the 2009 season, I was invited to film the Alterna Shoot alongside Charlie Grinnell.   This was an amazing experience involving superb riding, course and location.  The weather was in our favour, providing the shoot with soft snow and the occasional cloud.  As both days came to a close, my P2 cards had been filled and I knew I had something.  Here’s the edit of what I came up with, hope you all enjoy it.

Alterna’s ELEKTRO is here!

Hey Guys,

Long time no post, I have been keeping busy with the guys at Alterna as well as getting stuff together for the PYP short film.  Alterna is proud to announce that Elektro is finally available to you guys!  To purchase go to www.alternaactionfilms.com/store or head to your nearest store and pick up a copy!

I can say that working with these guys has been awesome and I am excited to keep working with them.  On another note, the intro of the movie is mind-blowing, trust me.  Shot on big fancy secret cameras, I’m claiming right now that Elektro has the best looking intro of any snow-related  film this year.

Anyway, the season is just around the corner so keep checking this back as I will be updating more often now.

Keep it real, buy Elektro and PYPce,

Video: Private Alterna Shoot At Grouse

Hey I got a little shot in the Grouse Alterna Shoot clip on push.ca.  Check it out!

Some behind-the-scenes footage of the Alterna crew’s annual shoot on Grouse Mountain. It would seem that their yearly shoot always brings blue skies…suspicious. Riding and speaking from Chris Rasman, Matt Belzile, JF Fortin, Craig Beaulieu, Tadej Valentan, Chris Dufficy, Johnny Lyall, Wiley Tesso, Barry Hartman, Beau Bishop, Eero Niemla and Mikey Rencz. Look for the final footage in their 09/10 release, Elektro.

We have a slight change of plans…

Hey Errbody,

If your still reading this, great, because I plan to be blogging all summer long with some very entertaining antics.

So here is what is going on in my life:  Liam Casey and I were supposed to goto Mammoth to do some shooting with 4bi9 in Mammoth’s SUPERPARK but it was very last minute and poor planning led to Liam and I driving to Centralia, Washington (90 Miles outside of Portland) and driving back in one day, FML!

Alright so we have been back for a couple of days now, I have been busy ORGANIZING (haha this time I will plan) the trip to Mt. Hood with Surface Skis.  May 30th to June 11th PYP will be at Mt. Hood shooting for the end of season project we have been working on as well as doing some shooting for the wonderful people at Surface.  For all you film nerds out there, my 35mm adapter now fits on my camera and the footage looks amazing.  For errbody else who doesn’t know what a 35mm adapter does, click here.  So after Mt. Hood, I have some stuff that I will be doing with Alterna so keep your eyes open for that.

Also after Mt. Hood, we will be shooting some more stuff on the glacier in Whistler as well as some biking with a good buddy of PYP’s, Mr. Eric Lawrenuk, Mr. Mark Mathews and Mr. Jordie Lunn.  It may not be ski and board content, but trust me, these guys are amazing on a bike, and even more amazing off the bike…  There will also be updates on how the end of season thing is going, maybe another teaser as well.  I plan to do daily updates while in Mt. Hood as well.

Ok so now my hands are tired from typing because I can’t actually type, I finger poke, so cut me some slack for stopping…..NOW!

PYPeace!

Alterna Blog

So I went to visit Mr. Carlo Wein of Alterna Action Films at their office in West Vancouver and it was awesome! They have started a blog at alternafilms.blogspot.com that is available right here on the GrousePark Blogroll on the right hand side… if you didn’t know.

I will keep everyone informed of all their updates.

Keep it real, PYP style!
