At the end of the 2009 season, I was invited to film the Alterna Shoot alongside Charlie Grinnell. This was an amazing experience involving superb riding, course and location. The weather was in our favour, providing the shoot with soft snow and the occasional cloud. As both days came to a close, my P2 cards had been filled and I knew I had something. Here’s the edit of what I came up with, hope you all enjoy it.
I will now be interning with Alterna Films so the content on here will be more frequent and fun! Just on a side note, Alterna is having a sale on some of their camera gear, there is a chance for some awesome package deals for some of the best gear you can get! They will also throw in some free DVD’s, if anyone is interested, send me an email to charlie@grousepark.com.
A new PYP edit will be on here ASAP, it is done, just needs to be uploaded to the internet. We are also going to do a complete overhaul of the old PYP site so that will be sick. PYP goes to Mt. Hood in t-minus 17 days, so get ready to get rocked! Just kidding, but no seriously, there will be some awesome content that you wouldn’t be able to see anywhere else, funny stuff coming folks!
Alterna Films had a private shoot this past week on Grouse Mountain. Taking full advantage of the slushy spring conditions, the crew invaded the Quicksilver park, set up some highly photogenic features, and threw down.
Stepover. 65 feet to the knuckle. Take 'er deeeep.
Riders in attendance included Craig Bealieu, Beau Bishop, Wiley Tesseo, Barry Hartman, Matt Belzile, Tadej Valentan, and many more. Even Grouse Mountain local Liam Casey was invited in on the fun. You can check out the Alterna blog for some behind scenes shots of the action but the only place to see the real goods will be in Alterna’s 08/09 film.
Big enough for ya?
Big thanks to Carlo for letting me in on the session!
Sorry for the long absence. New PYP edit from Whistler, another one is currently being worked on as well. I have been busy with the Alterna end of season shoot in the Quiksilver Park, planning lots of exciting things for the summer including a trip to California to shoot with 4bi9 as well as going to Mt. Hood for a long time to shoot some stuff with Surface Skis. So keep your eyes peeled.
Thanks for an awesome season at Grouse Mountain, next year will be even better, I promise.
Brian Choi was up Grouse Mountain on March 29th to shoot the Alterna/Showdown session. He got some killer shots! See for yourself.

Temperatures are rising and the snow is softening up. Session are going off in the Quiksilver and Rookie parks. Get up Grouse Mountain, get your goggle tan on, shred some slush, and have some fun! Only 2 weeks of riding left.
