The Gig:
From the applicants, we will choose 5 finalists to become our 2009/10 season Grouse Park Blogospondents. Each selected Blogospondent will be required to write one entry each week for the Grouse Park Sessions blog and volunteer one day a month in the park. This commitment is a minimum of roughly 4 hours per week, though you may submit additional entries as you like – there is no maximum.
You can choose any relevant topic of interest to you: You could write about the parks, the pro team riders, snow industry events and news, Grouse Mountain park events, that cool video you found on YouTube or Google vids. You could write about industry fashion trends, equipment, suppliers or anything else you think will be interesting.
You will report jointly to the Editor of GrousePark.com under the direction of Grouse Mountain’s marketing department and will be eligible for incentives such as gift cards, lift tickets etc. At the end of the season, you’ll also have a nice selection of writing samples and a letter of confirmation for your work for Grouse Mountain (applicable for Career Prep and/or some co-op situations).
This is a great opportunity to get access to the industry to see how it works, get noticed and make a name for yourself while we work to promote you through industry channels. If this is something that gets you stoked, you’ll need to write in and tell us why you should be chosen.
How to apply:
Write something. Write something you think highlights what you know, who you are, why you ride, or why you want to do this. Write it online somewhere or write it in an email. Write it as a word document or convert it to PDF. Whatever. Just write it and send it to us. Include photos or video; make your entire entry a video if you want. Write a song about it… whatever. Just write something – whatever it is you think will show off what you can do.
Then send it to mevans [at] grousemountain [dot] com, and make sure you do it by Sunday, November 15th!
