Burke’s Going to Alaska!!!

This video just got posted, this is so rad! My good homie and work buddy, was the first official winner of Rome’s Ticket to Alaska!

This is a North American wide contest, and he won for selling the most Rome gear in all of Canada and the States!! It’s an all expenses paid trip to Alaska, where Rome flies you out and you spend a week shreddin and hangin with pro riders as they all come together to get some of the best terrain in the world! check out the site for more info here, Wooo!! So the other night pro Rome rider MFR (babe) and our rep Derrick, showed up at the back door with a big prize poster and confetti, and gave him the surprise of a lifetime. Beers and good times were had. It’s all in the footage here.

A big shout out to Tyler, if you’ve ever been in the shop I’m sure you’ve seen this guy, if not, next time you’re in the dub give him a big high five!

Congratulations to Shayan Aghourlikhani

Just want to congratulate Shayan for placing 3rd in the AM division at “You Look Good” yesterday at Mount Seymour. For all of you that don’t know Shayan, he is the youngest member on park crew at Grouse Mountain. Big ups little fella!

Under Armour MTN Along The Way Series

This is a cool little video series made by pro skier turned cinematographer Michael Clarke.  It follows UA athletes around and lets you kind of peek into the lives that they live.  Awesome music, with awesome cinematography and topped off with outstanding editing, this is one of my favourite things to watch on Vimeo right now.

Enjoy!

X-Games real snow finals!

Supreme!

That’s the perfect word to sum up how I feel about X-games newest addition REAL SNOW.

Basically the best 1 minute urban part out of eight pro riders takes the $2,500 pot (the link above explains it all!) So through public voting it’s down to the Big Don JP Walker and the Frenchman Nic Sauve. Get involved and throw your vote down, winners announced at the X-games (January 27th-30th)

Nic Sauve’s part (In my opinion the outright winner!, but you gotta give respect to JP)

Second That!

Saturday WAS a brilliant day! The park was sick and the vibes were good. I showed up slightly late but still managed to catch some very prize worthy action. Flips, spins, grabs, and hand drags were thrown down all day and it was all topped off with sunny skies and warm temperatures. Here are some more shots!

Hey y’all,

Results are in. Looks like Nate Konyi takes this one convincingly. Congrats to all the runner ups. Brian Choi was in second and kept it pretty tight. Nate wins himself a pair of Oakley/Grouse Mountain collab Crowbars and a prize pack from our sponsors. Nicely done Nate, and big ups to Adam Wizinsky for proving the material on a one shot then pack up sort of deal. Well done boys.

Here’s the shot again. It’s a beauty!

Photo Contest Finalists

Hey all,

We’ve finally got the finalists for the photo contest. The response was huge and we’re stoked on the submissions that came in. There were a bunch of good shots and narrowing it down was a challenge. In the end, our crew decided on four finalists, instead of the originally planned three. They are Colton Labou, Brian Choi, Josh Remund and Nate Konyi. Below are their submissions. As of tomorrow night, these pictures will be on the Grouse Mountain Terrain Parks Facebook page and you’ll have all Easter long weekend to vote on your favourite one. Come Monday morning, at 10am, the picture with the most likes will win the contest and the photog will walk away with a pair of Grouse Mountain/Oakley collab Crowbars and some out swag. Congrats to our finalists once again.

The Grousepark boys are placing bets on the winner. All I’m saying is, if my guy doesn’t win, no one is getting a prize. Just kidding.

Happy Voting,
Sam

Grouse Mountain Oakley Night Jams!

Last Friday, Grouse threw one of their monthly night jams. Everyone came out to welcome the new snow and the kids kept it fresh with their after bangs and sweet new manoeuvres. There were tons of Oakley prizes to be won and everyone had a great time. Callem Peake killed it snowboarding, along with skier Simon Stulberg, both winning best overall riders in their respective sports. The most inspirational rider took home a pair of Grouse Oakley collab Crowbars, so shout out to the guy who managed to slit his wrist on the downbar. Hope your doin ok! It was great to see everyone still hyped and killin it mid-March! More jams to come with the good weather, stay tuned birds!
